As you might imagine due to the fact that Next Level Purchasing is run by purchasers, we do a lot of oursourcing. We’re not the size of a General Motors or an ExxonMobil, so when we have a need for a task to be completed, we ask ourselves an additional question. That question is:

“Is this service going to be ongoing or is it a short-term need?”

Most of the services we buy are short-term in nature: graphic design for a project, voiceovers for our training, etc. So, we usually outsource.

If you are a smaller organization adopting the questions in the article, you may want to add this question to your list as well.
